Frequently asked questions;
Is Fat Freezing a weight loss treatment?
There is a some misconception that fat freezing can result in weight loss. This is unfortunatly not true.
Fat freezing is ultimately a fat loss NOT weight loss procedure.
Generally the fat pockets that are treated can be reduced between 20-40% of the pocket size. The weight of the fat cells themselves that are destroyed may not add up to much on the weighing scale, but you will be able to notice physical changes in your body to achieve a more streamlined figure.

What does the treatment entail?
The proceedure of cryolipolysis (fat freezing) is to freeze the areas that you want to destroy fat cells.
During your treatment, our qualified profressional aesthetician therapist will first assess the size and shape of your fat deposits. A special handheld device is then used to suck and draw in the fatty tissues to start the freezing process.
You may feel a tugging or pulling sensation as the device is applied to the skin which is completly normal & that the majority of clients are able to tolerate well. At the end of your treatment, your therapist will also perform a quick massage to help with the numbness and mild swelling.
The results of each client will vary depending on the size of your fat cells, lifestyle habits and how your body naturally responds to the treatment.
This treatment is a non surgical treatment & therfore has very little or even zero downtime required, meaning to say that you can go about your daily activities as per normal. The area that has been treated may feel slightly tender, even slightly brusied (even if there is no actual physical brusing is present) this may last a couple of days or up to a couple of weeks edpending on the sensitivity of the client. The device that we use at our salon can also allow us to treat a couple of areas at the same time depending on pocket size of the areas required, and it roughly takes 35–90 minutes to complete the entire treatment, depending on the size of the pocket & the amount of areas being treated.
Clinical trials acroos the globe have shown that 9 out of 10 people saw a reduction in the treatment area 12 weeks after they underwent the cryolipolysis treatment.
The majority of our clients will see results within 8–12 weeks post-treatment longet time frame being 6 months in rare cases and depending on the size of your fat cells and the number of areas you want to treat. In most cases depending on your goals a small to average size pocket may only require a single session, however for larger size pockets & depending on your expectaions it is good to bare in mind that additional sessions may be required for your desired results. Additional treeatment of the same area must have a wait time of 6 months in between each procesdure.

What are the possible side effects?
It is normal to experience localized redness, bruising, swelling, tenderness and numbness at the treatment site. This can last for a few days or up to four weeks and is likely due to the intense cold temperatures that your skin is being exposed to.
In rare cases if you are partically sesntive to cold temperatures blisters may occur, however they do generally tend to heal on their own. In the event of a blister cliemnts are advised to avoid bursting, picking, touching the area, & recommend our clients to notify us immediatly.
However, we would like to assure our clients that fat freezing is a completely safe treatment and there is nothing to worry about. Researchers have indicated that are no major health risks associated with the procedure. Because fat cells are more temperature-sensitive than your skin, this treatment will also not harm the surrounding tissues.
There is a rare side effect of fat freezing known as paradoxical adipose hyperplasia–a phenomenon that occurs when the fat cells in the treatment area grow larger rather than smaller.
Although doctors aren’t sure why this occurs, it is said, a rare occurrence (less than 1% of cases)

Who is Fat freezing suitable for?
Cryolipolysis (fat freezing) is ideal for those who have pockets of body fat that are stubborn, arms, inner thighs, under the bum, back around the bra area, abdomen, love handles & chin etc... & ideally anyone with a BMI of 30 or below and those who are possibly already close to their ideal body weight but with pinchable areas of fat that are difficult to get rid of with diet and exercise alone.
Fat freezing is not ideal for patients who are obese, suffer from skin problems, currently pregnant or have poor skin elasticity. Otherwise, fat freezing is safe for both men and women of all skin types.

Is there anyhing I can do to maximize my results?
At the end of the day, no treatment will stop someone from gaining weight/new fat cells there is unfortunatly no magical treatment nor subsitute for a healthly lifestyle or regular excercise, so It is highly recommended that you do your best to maintain your weight by eating a healthy and nutritious diet and staying physically active. Ensuring that you are well-hydrated also helps flush out the fat cells, 1.5 - 2 litres of water per day recommended.
Especially during the first 8 weeks after your treatment, it is important to maintain a healthy weight to prevent new fat cells from returning to the treatment area.
Many clients find fat freezing as a great starting point for those who are willing to put in the effort to manage your weight to maintain your results in the long run. Seeing results may also help motivate and push you to continue living a healthier lifestyle.
In certain cases we may recommend certain clients complementing their treatment with some skin tightening sessions such as radiofrequency (RF) and ultrasound treatments, both of which we also offer. In conjunction with cryolipolysis, these treatments use controlled heat energy to stimulate collagen and tighten loose and saggy skin. Your qualified therapist will be able to advise accordingly in your treatment.

Is fat freezing permanent?
Generally with Cryolipolysis your results are meant to be permanent. This is because unlike other traditional weight loss methods, the fat cells are completely destroyed, rather than shrunk down. However it is important to note & reitterate that no treatment will STOP you from gaining new fat cells or stop you from gaining weight so again we advise a healthly lifestyle & exercise regieme to maintain your new found silhouette.
Some clients may decide to come for further follow-up sessions after 6 months after their first treatment to further boost their results, providing they have enough fat cells in the area to work with.

Which areas can be treated by Cavitation?Any area of the body that has more than 3cms of fat. Mainly stomach, thighs, flanks, buttocks, back .
Where does the fat go?After disruption of adipose cells, the fat in the form of triglycerides is released into the interstitial fluid between the cells, where they are enzymatically metabolized to glycerol and free fatty acids. Water-soluble glycerol is absorbed by the circulatory system and used as the energy source, whereas the insoluble free fatty acids are transported to the liver and processed as fatty acids from food.
Is fat cavitation safe?Yes. The treatments are non-invasive – meaning the treatment does not penetrate the skin so there is no risk of infection or complication. All our therapists are highly trained and qualified in performing the treatment.
When will I start to see results? You will start seeing results immediately but for lasting results, a course of 8 treatments is recommended. One per week for 8 weeks.
Does fat cavitation hurt? Not at all. Our clients consider the procedure painless and comfortable. You may also experience a little warmth during the treatment, & a slight vibrating sound in the ears like crickets.
How long each treatment take? Each session lasts for 40 minutes, if performed by itself otherwise can be combined with skin tightening.
What are the side effects of fat cavitation? You may experience some redness in the treated area after a procedure, but these symptoms should resolve themselves within an hour.

Radio Frequency (Skin tightening) How does it work?Electromagnetic radiation below the range of 300GHz pierces the skin, effectively heating the dermis to approximately 40 degrees. The dermis is the skin layer below the epidermis. The heat gradually modifies the collagen fibres, causing them to contract and condense. Additional collagen synthesis occurs due to the healing process of the skin, induced by the heat. This eventually results in tighter and healthier looking skin.
How Often Should You Get Radiofrequency Treatments?Radiofrequency skin tightening is a relatively simple procedure that does not take long, involves no incisions, and gives lasting results with repeated treatments & can often be performed on your lunch hour!
With that said, how many skin tightening treatments you need, largely depends on your age and skin’s laxity & area of treatment. In most cases for moderate looseness we recommend 8 sessions on average.
Younger clients may space out treatments, while others may schedule once a week or monthly for eight months, our quailifed professional can help you create a treatment plan that works best for you.
Is Skin Tightening Painful? With a name like radiofrequency skin tightening, you may think the procedure would be painful or uncomfortable. In fact, however, it’s quite the opposite! While some individuals may notice the warmth during the procedure, it is virtually pain-free.
Unlike surgical procedures, which require downtime, radiofrequency skin tightening procedures require little to no downtime whatsoever, meaning you can easily fit it into your schedule. After the treatment, you can go on with your day. In most cases a small amount of erythema (redness) from heat stimulation is completely normal and normally subsides after an hour or less.
